I Can Be Whatever I See is a coloring book designed to help children of color visualize themselves in non-traditional career roles. In this edition of the series we explore entrepreneurship and business ventures that you and your child could start today. You see when I was 9 years old, I would have my dad purchase roll-on lip gloss and hot chips in bulk from the wholesale warehouse, and then I’d raise the price and resell them back to my peers at school. I don’t think either of us realized it at the time, but that simple act sparked a lifelong entrepreneurial spirit within me.And my hope is that this book helps guide conversations on ways to monetize your child’s current interests and help them become future business owners. I loved lip gloss sooo much (and I still do), so I’m forever grateful to my dad for teaching me to see beyond myself and turn my interest into a profitable business. After all, children are our greatest investments! This coloring book features 24 pages of children engaged in activities that they can turn into profitable businesses with a little help from an adult. These activities range from YouTube personalities, to sneaker re-sellers, to assisting the elderly with their daily chores. As well as a few that we left open to your interpretation. The opportunities are honestly endless and I can’t wait to see what you come up with. The page illustrations are single sided so that your child doesn’t have to choose between two different business ventures, should they choose to pull the page out and put in their walls. The backside to every page also features a “black box” to help prevent markers from bleeding through to the next page. Happy Coloring!
