The study of indigenous women entrepreneurs in the State of New Mexico is still quite recent. One can define it as being an activity that involves the creation, management and design of new ventures by native people with a clear intent to benefit indigenous communities or individuals. Indigenous entrepreneurs face a challenge to balance traditional values and contemporary business values in order to create successful ventures. Our cases are related to urban indigenous entrepreneurship. It is clear from the every chapter that our indigenous women entrepreneurs were able to develop their businesses integrating their indigenous values and traditions, but at the same time embracing modern managerial perspectives. The cases compiled in this book clearly demonstrate that the stereotype that portrays indigenous communities dependent and at the mercy of benefits from government programs is not accurate. Thus, these entrepreneurs reinforce the idea that entrepreneurship has always been a trait of indigenous communities, it is in their DNA. Thus, becoming an entrepreneur is always a way to go back to indigenous community roots and ways of life for many indigenous communities.
