These ain’t no rhinestone specs or cheap sunglasses. This is our wild, yet elegant version of the classic Wayfarer style. Treat your eyes to a pair of our Coronado Zebrawood Wayfarers.

We promise that no Zebras were in anyway mistreated or abused to make these amazing glasses. In fact, Zebrawood is a tropical wood mostly obtained from an African tree called Microberlinia brazzavillensis (um, yeah, we can’t pronounce that either, so no worries). This wood has been used since the late 1700’s for all sorts of things like cabinets, furniture, exotic instruments and at one time it was used in Cadillac and Mercedes-Benz automobiles. Its hardness makes it ideal for skis and tool handles. It also makes for a very sturdy pair of sunglasses.

In fact this wood is so hard we wondered it Chuck Norris and Jean-Claude Van Damme’ were having a tug of war with the last pair left on the planet…who would win? Or would they both lose and have to share the glasses?

We love Zebrawood for our Coronado Wayfarers not only for its strength, but because of its visually interesting wavy grain and exciting alternating color pattern of brown and black stripes. These exotic sunglasses are so rare and beautiful that we think the “Most Interesting Man In the World” would be more interesting if he wore them. ..just sayin.
